Check Your IP

Road Runner uses Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) to assign IP addresses dynamically. This means that you will not always have the same IP address.

If you call Road Runner Technical Support at 877-777-6126 (Voice). Hearing impaired customers can contact 877-311-8333 (TTY) for technical support, you may be asked to provide your IP address to aide in troubleshooting your connection. To check your IP address:

Macintosh OS X:

Select Network from System Preferences.
Click the TCP/IP tab. Your IP address can be located within the IP Address field.
Windows NT/2000:

Open a Command Prompt (by selecting Programs, and then MS-DOS Prompt from the Start menu).
At the Command Prompt, type ipconfig /all. Your networking information, including your current IP address, is displayed.
Windows XP:

Select Run from the Start menu.
Type cmd and click the OK button.
At the Command Prompt, type ipconfig /all. Your networking information, including your current IP address, is displayed.


*Note: For Macintosh OS9 users: The easiest way to renew the IP address is to restart your PC.
